When it gets warm in the Waldviertel, there's hardly anything better than a short drive to the nearest natural swimming pond or lake. Around Gutenbrunn you will find several beautiful places - from quiet & natural to Family-friendly with infrastructure.

1) Edlesberger See / Edlesberger Teich (Martinsberg - near Gutenbrunn)
A real classic in the area: natural, quiet, wonderful for switching off - and also ideal for a short walk around the water.

2) Bathing pond „Oberer Ortsteich“ (Ottenschlag)
Beautifully designed with small bays and one central island (jetty). For children, according to the info page, there are, among other things. Water slide - and for the older ones a Springboard.
Suitable for: Families, all those who like „a little more offer“ at the pond

3) Sallingberg leisure facility / bathing pond (Sallingberg)
A swimming pond with the character of a leisure facility - pleasant for a whole afternoon (swimming + sunbathing lawn + break in between). The distance is often estimated online at ~17 km indicated.

Has been renovated and redesigned; according to the description, there are, among other things. Sunbathing lawn, Non-swimmer area and leisure activities.

Do I need admission?
This varies depending on the bathing area. At the Parish pond Sallingstadt For example, it is explicitly mentioned that the plant free of charge can be used.
For other places: check the notice board/current information on site.
Is food & drink available?
Some pitches have a seasonal buffet/kiosk. At the Parish pond Sallingstadt For example, a bathing cabin with sales (drinks, snacks etc. depending on the season) is described.
At the Upper local pond and other facilities, there is often infrastructure nearby - it's best to check in advance.
Is it family-friendly / are there non-swimmer areas?
Very family-friendly, for example, is the Upper local pond (including water slide + diving board as described).
At the Parish pond will also be a Non-swimmer area called.
What should we take with us?
Bathing shoes (pleasant on natural shores), sun cream, drinking water, picnic blanket - and a small bag for your own garbage if you are in a natural area.
Are dogs allowed?
