If you are planning a relaxing day of swimming from our vacation apartments in Gutenbrunn, the Bathing pond „Oberer Ortsteich“ in Ottenschlag a really beautiful destination in the Waldviertel. The pond is picturesquely laid out, with small bays, one central island (accessible via a footbridge) and two Fountain - perfect for cooling off, relaxing and going for a walk.

Ottenschlag is located in the Waldviertel and is an easily accessible destination for a half or full day out. The best way to get there is by car. On site it is a classic local or leisure pond - so you are quickly „in the middle of it“.
Tip: Combine a day of swimming with a short stroll through the town or a snack break - Ottenschlag is a pleasant stopover in the Waldviertel.

There is a Jetty, which runs along two sides of the island and crosses the Getting into the water This is practical if you don't want to cross rocky banks.
Extra for campers (if you meet any on the way)
Right next to the leisure area there is also a Motorhome parking space (electricity/running water/sewage disposal; WC/showers nearby). This is usually just „nice to know“ for our guests, but it shows: The area is well developed.

- In the past (especially on hot days): Then moorings are more relaxed.
- Bathing shoes pack: Better safe than sorry.
- Picnic/snack take with you: Especially with children, this pays off.
- Evening round: If it's been hot, the walk around the pond is often particularly pleasant later on.
